Too Old? Too Awkward? Too Much For Boudoir?

Read This Before You Count Yourself Out of a Boudoir Shoot

You’ve seen the photos.

Women glowing. Laughing. Owning every inch of their body in lingerie, a leather jacket, or nothing at all. You feel something spark inside you—but then the voice creeps in:

“I could never do that. I’m too old.”
“I’d feel way too awkward.”
“That’s for confident people. I’m not there yet.”

Hold up.
Let’s talk about that voice—and why it’s full of shit.

You’re Not Too Old

You are not past your “prime.” You are not expired. You are not less worthy of being seen, celebrated, or photographed just because another year rolled around.

Some of the most powerful, radiant boudoir sessions I’ve ever shot were with women in their 40s, 50s, 60s—even 70s.

They’ve lived.
They’ve earned their presence.
And when they let go and step in front of my camera?
They shine in a way that no 20-year-old with a ring light ever could.

There’s a different kind of fire that comes with age—and baby, it looks damn good in black and white.

📍If you’re looking for boudoir photography in Northern Michigan, you’ve just found your hype woman. I’m based in Gaylord, Michigan—and I photograph real women like goddamn art.

You’re Not Too Awkward

Spoiler: literally everyone feels awkward at first.

Every woman who walks through my door starts off saying:

“I don’t know how to pose.”
“I’ve never done anything like this.”
“I feel kinda weird already.”

And guess what? That’s okay. You’re not a model. You don’t have to be.

That’s my job.

I guide you through everything. From how to breathe, to where to put your hands, to how to tilt your chin. I hype you up the whole time. We laugh. We adjust. We get weird and gorgeous and messy and honest.

And within 10 minutes? That “awkward” energy? Gone.
Replaced with something wild and free and real as hell.

💬 If you’re anywhere near Gaylord or Northern Michigan and you think you’re “too awkward” for a boudoir shoot, just know this: 10 minutes with me and that awkwardness melts right off.

You’re Not Too Much

Too loud. Too big. Too quiet. Too emotional. Too soft. Too hard. Too much of this, not enough of that.

How many versions of that message have you heard in your life?

Let me be loud and clear about this one: You are not too much. You are just enough. You are a full human being, with a full story, in a body that deserves to be seen without apology.

If anyone’s ever made you feel like you need to shrink—your personality, your curves, your confidence—I hope you do this shoot specifically for them.

(And also, for you. Always for you.)

Still Not Convinced? Let Me Share What My Clients Say:

Before:

“I was so nervous. I almost canceled.”
“I’m plus-size and thought I’d hate how I looked in the photos.”
“I felt silly even thinking I could do something like this.”

After:

“I’ve never felt more beautiful in my life.”
“Seeing my photos made me cry—in the best way.”
“I showed my best friend and said, ‘LOOK AT ME. LOOK AT THIS WOMAN!’”

Listen. You Don’t Need to Lose Weight.

You Don’t Need a Reason.
You Don’t Need Permission.

You don’t have to wait until you feel “ready.”

Because feeling ready? That usually comes after you’ve done the damn thing.

And babe, if you’ve read this far? You already are the kind of woman who deserves to feel powerful, seen, and stunning as hell. You just needed someone to say it.

So here I am.
Saying it.
Screaming it, actually.

You’re not too old.
You’re not too awkward.
You’re not too much.

You’re right on time.
